Kevin07 abandons Australia's youth
The Australian Young Liberal Movement has today strongly condemned the passing of the Rudd Labor Government's ill-conceived and poorly thought through economic stimulus package.
"As Prime Minister Rudd reveals both his true economic colours and his fiscal ineptitude, those who will suffer the most under this flagrantly populist spending spree have largely been forgotten," Federal Young Liberal President Rachel Fry said today.
"It is the youth of Australia who will pay for this. It is the youth of Australia who will suffer through years of long-term, debt-fuelled economic stagnation. It is the youth of Australia who will largely comprise Labor's rising ranks of unemployment.
"This Government's spending since October, coming in at a whopping 6.4% of Australia's GDP, has, in a remarkably short period of time, undone the gains of eleven and a half years of John Howard and Peter Costello's prudent economic management.
"The absurdity of it all is, after handing a student $900 as part of the stimulus package, the Government then plans to take $250 of it back in a compulsory university fee!!!
"This is bureaucratic Big Government excess at its populist worst and, as Kevin07 abandons Australia's youth by mortgaging their future, they will abandon him," Miss Fry said.
