EDO Programme 2012
The EDO Programme 2012 is your opportunity to help campaign in Queensland's upcoming State election.
The Queensland State Election has been called for Saturday, 24 March, 2012. Every election, the Young Liberal Movement of Australia runs the Electorate Development Officer (EDO) Programme to send enthusiastic Young Liberal volunteers from across the country to help campaign in State and Territory elections. We also expect to run this program in the Northern Territory and the Australian Capital Territory in August and October respectively.
March 24 represents an important opportunity for the Party to replicate last year's successes in New South Wales and Victoria in an important and very winnable state election. Now, more than ever, we need Young Liberals to be trained up in the art of marginal seat campaigning techniques. We are appealing to you to apply to be part of the EDO Programme and travel to Queensland to help us campaign.
Successful applicants will travel to Queensland and will be based in a key marginal seat, ideally from the 11th to the 24th of March. The cost of airfares will be met or offset by the Young Liberals and applicants will be billeted with members of the Liberal National Party from the area in which you will be campaigning. Successful applicants are advised to make provision for spending money on some meals and other personal expenses.
As we face at least three elections this year, fully-funded positions are limited but all Young Liberals with an interest in campaigning are encouraged to apply. This is a fantastic opportunity to build and develop your campaigning skills, as well as having fun campaigning for Campbell Newman's LNP team and a better government for Queensland.
